Conservation of a WW1 Panoramic Photograph of the South Wales Borderers

This project involved the conservation of a panoramic Silver gelatine print photograph from The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh. Conservation work done includes: 

  • Removing the print from where it had been adhered to the glass 

  • Surface cleaning the photograph and frame 

  • Consolidating the flaking image with gelatine,  

  • Rear repair and infilling using colour matched Japanese tissue paper 

  • Remounting in the original frame.
